Greylag goose
The Greylag goose ( Anser anser ) is a Oiseau pertaining to the family of the Anatidae and the subfamily of the Anserinae.
Description
The greylag goose ( Anser anser ) is the ancestor of the majority of the races of Oie S servants. It measures between 75 and 90 cm. The plumage is uniformly grisâtre with a white tail. The legs are pink and the orange nozzle.
Habitat
The wild individuals attend a large variety of wetlands. One meets the greylag goose mainly in north and is Europe, in Turkey, Russia and until China. Some individuals nest however in France, in particular in Alsace, bay of Somme and Brière. It winters in all the south of the Europe and the Asia according to the populations.
Biology
The greylag goose is a watery species which swims more often than the others Oie S even if it is nourished mainly while grazing. The nest is placed close to water, is dissimulated in the vegetation and the reeds. The greylag goose is extremely gregarious during the migration.
Populations
The wild population is estimated between 920.000 and 970.000 individuals.Certain races and varieties are regarded as domestic.
