Comments
- the title Grey' S Anatomy is a wink with a work chirugical writes by the British author Henry Gray in 1858 and which was entitled off Henry Gray' S Anatomy the Human Body (or more commonly Gray' S Anatomy ), regarded as the “bible” of the human anatomy by generations of doctors since his first publication.
- the complete French title of the series is Grey' S Anatomy, in open heart in Europe and Dre Grey, lessons of anatomy in Quebec.
- the first season was to include/understand 13 episodes, but only nine were diffused by ABC. The four not diffused remaining episodes were added thereafter to the diffusion of the second season, bringing this one to a total of 27 episodes (instead of 23).
- the series, as of its beginnings, gained a very great success in the United States. The first season (however diffused only in medium of televisual season, in March) was on average seen by 18.8 million televiewers. The second season is a true triumph, going even until making more audience than Desperate Housewives diffused just before. With 21 million televiewers on average each week (the record having been of 38,4 million televiewers for the episode diffused just after the Super Bowl), the best audience for a program post-Super Bowl in five years.
- During its original diffusion in the USA, the final episode of the second season lasted three hours (publicities included). It was cut in three parts: the episode 2x25 17 Seconds , diffused on Sunday, May 14, 2006 was one 45 minutes normal duration (one hour with publicities) and the episodes 2x26 and 2x27 lasted one hour each one (always with the pubs) and was diffused the next day, on Monday, May 15, 2006. The fans were with go for this final exceptional: 22,1 million televiewers for the first part of Sunday (22% of market share), then 22,2 million for the second part of Monday (19% of PDM) and finally 23,8 million for the outcome diffused this same Monday (23% of PDM). This season final was the program more looked during the two evenings where it was diffused by exceeding all its other competitors.
- Considering the success which the series meets, ABC renewed it for season 2006/2007, the series passing of the Sunday to Thursday on the grid of the programs. However, the bet, also dared is it, is not won in advance: indeed, Grey will have to then compete with the most looked at fiction the USA: the Experts ( CSI ), diffused per same hour on CBS.
- the English titles of the episodes of Grey' S Anatomy are titles of songs: has Hardware Day' S Night (The Beatles), The First Cut Is The Deepest (Cat Stevens)
- a Spin-off will be diffused on ABC with the re-entry 2007, Private Practice . One finds poster at the head there the actress Kate Walsh who takes again her role of Dre Addison Montgomery. It is the only actress of the original series to play in this derived series, so created and produced by Shonda Rhimes. In addition, the pilot episode of Private Practice was already diffused under-form of a " backdoor pilot" in a special episode season 3 of Grey' S Anatomy (" doubles; The Other Side off This Life, Share I & II" ; " Dreamed life… " & " … Of the autres" in VF)
- In one of the first episodes, Meredith affixes a classified to find one (E) joint tenant. The advertisement is visible only one second, but one can see among other details on housing these some words: “Bush supporters need not apply” (in favor of Bush to abstain from).
- season 3 was the season most followed with an average of 22,35 million televiewers. The episode less followed gathered 18,4 million American all the same (diffused the day of Thanksgiving). It is about episode 3.09. The episode more followed gathered 27,29 million American. It is about episode 3.17, episode where several recurring characters deceased of the former seasons make an appearance, such as Denny Duquette or the bomb disposal expert Dylan Young in the form of phantoms… Undoubtedly that the emotion to re-examine characters if attaching attracted good number of spectators. During its diffusion in France, the scene where Izzie bored the cranium of a patient with a drilling machine was censured, undoubtedly diffused too early in the evening.
- the 4th season is strongly disturbed by the strike of the scenario writers to the the United States which lasts since the November 5th 2007. Only 11 episodes were turned on the 22, and it is impossible to know at present if they could be turned.
Music
The musical environment of the series is very important. It is used on several occasions during the episode to put forward the feelings and the emotions, not only of the characters but also of the televiewers. The series employs a musical supervisor of which the goal is to choose the most capable musics to correspond to the series. It is also the occasion for us to discover promising groups.
