Greux
Greux is a common French, located in the department of the the Vosges and the area Lorraine.
Geography
History
Domrémy (or at least the part in which the house of Jeanne d' Arc was, namely the northern part of the village) was exempted taxes by Charles VII after its crowning, at the time of the ennoblement of Jeanne d' Arc. Greux also profited from this privilege.Domrémy, attached to the Lorraine in 1571, lost the privilege on this date since it then raised of the Saint Germanic Roman Empire. On the other hand, remained French, the town of Greux could profit from the privilege until 1766.
The primitive village and its church were destroyed by the Swedes during the Guerre Thirty Year old.
