Greta Scacchi

Greta Scacchi (born the February 18th 1960 with Milan, Italy) is an actress of Italian origin having been rewarded for a Emmy Award.

Biography

Scacchi is born from an English mother dancer and an Italian father, painter. His/her parents divorce when it is three years old, and his/her mother turns over in England with Greta and her two older brothers. In 1975, the family moves in Australia, her mother being remariée.

In 1977, Greta Scacchi turns over to England to launch out in a career of actress; she follows the school of theater of the Bristol Old Vic, with Miranda Richardson and Amanda Redman. In 1982, it makes its beginnings with the cinema in German film Das Zweite Gesicht ( The Second Face ) then is tested in various films like Heat and Dust (1983), White Mischief (1987), innocent Présumé (1990), The Player (1993), and Country Life (1994).

In 1996 it gains a Emmy Award for its contribution in the telefilm Raspoutine . It was this year member of the jury of Cannes. It was also nominated for a Golden Globe and other rewards.

Family life

Between 1983 and 1989, it attended the New Zealand singer Tim Finn. In 1991 she married the American actor Vincent D' Onofrio. This marriage lasted nearly eighteen months and a girl was born from it, Leila (March 20th, 1992).

She has also a son, Matteo, (born in 1998), with her cousin (and companion), Carlo Mantegazza.
