The Grenoble-native Aviron is a club of Aviron of the town of Grenoble. Founded in 1893, it dominated the French oar of 1997 with 2002.

History

The club is founded in 1893. From 1919 Paul Feltrin, Lyons industrialist, deal with the drive and organize a tombola which finances the improvement of the infrastructures of the Grenoble-native Oar. Departure of Feltrin in 1930 with 1932 the club is badly managed. But it is taken again in hand by Raoul Civet, lawyer, who improves management, but dies of an air crash in 1939. Stopped by the war, the activity begins again in 1941. Georges Rozier, engineer with the service of the Bridge-and-Roadways undertakes the modernization of the club, but does not manage to increase manpower. The club then decides to obtain a sport director and chooses Robert Forney in 1955. Its arrival involves the increase in the sporting level and the first successes. In 1959 the club gains the cut of the French provinces. Between 1997 and 2002, the Grenoble-native Oar finishes first of French general classification and the female classification. In 2005 and 2006, it finishes fifth of the male classification. In 2007 it finishes first with the new classification Jeunes category! , second at the men and of return to the 4th place to general with a manpower of 360 oarsmen of which the half of Leisures.
