Gremlins 2, the new generation ( Gremlins 2: The New Batch ) is a film of Joe Dante left the August 22nd 1990.

Synopsis

Billy and Kate live New York now and Billy finds its Mogwai Gizmo in a genetic research laboratory in the building or it work. Wet by error by the repairer of fountains with water, Gizmo gives rise to a new generation of Mogwai, which will be transformed quickly into Gremlins before leaving to the attack a building high tech and will use the surprising resources of a laboratory of genetics. Gremlins will thus try to invade New York.

    Comments

    • the film refers several to other films:
      • Rambo : Gizmo after having seen the film Rambo and to have undergone its descent, decides like Rambo of " to become the guerre" and transforms itself into Rambo with the famous red stringcourse.
      • the Phantom of the Opera: Gremlin is made sprinkle the face of acid, as from this moment it carries a mask. Later whereas he plays of the organ another gremlin removes his mask to him. (This scene leaves straight of the musical comedy The Phantom off the Opera )

    • the laboratory of genetics, with the dermier stages building, and its " potions" genetics are drunk by Gremlins giving of the very diverse results:

      • Gremlin Bat: a gremlin having drunk a potion is transformed into a species of waste-gas main. With a solar potion of protection, it leaves to the adventure in New York.
      • Gremlin-spider: Gremlin having drunk a potion is transformed into hybrid gremlin-spider.
      • vegetable Gremlin: Gremlin having drunk a potion is found with a portrait of Arcimboldo as a face.

      • electric Gremlin: another transforms itself into gremlin in electric form.

    • the film includes sequences of cartoon of the Looney Tunes, with the whole beginning and in the final credits.

    • Hulk Hogan, champion of wrestling, makes an appearance in the cinema, and disputes the gremlins playing with the reel of their own film. In the version left in video, the sequence with Hulk Hogan is replaced by another where Gremlins find " incrustés" in a western with John Wayne.

    In first film, mogwais them were similar with the exeption of Stripe, the mogwai which had a white-Mohawk and Gizmo. While in second film, mogwais them are all different and have each one their personality. Their terms are:

    Mohawk: A black mogwai with a white wick like Stripe and would be the gang leader. It will become the gremlin-spider.

    Daffy: A brown mogwai of color caramel which with the insane air and that Kate will take for Gizmo and will bring back it on their premises.

    Georges: The other mogwai black which had small ears and large lips.

    Lenny: Brown which had molars. He would be more the mild nutter of the band.
