Gregorio Marañón

Gregorio Marañón Posadillo (born the May 19th 1887 with Madrid - died the March 27th 1960 in the same city) was there a Médecin, Scientifique, Universitaire, Historien, writer and Spanish thinker of the 20th century.

Biography

Married with Dolores Moya in 1911 Gregorio Marañón had three girls and a son (Carmen, Bethlehem, Maria Isabel and Gregorio).

Austere man, Humanistic and liberal, it is regarded as one of the more brilliant Spanish intellectuals of the 20th century. In addition to his scholarship, one must underline by his elegant literary style.

He was a republican of the first hour and fought the Dictature Primo de Rivera, but thereafter he showed a solved adversary of the Spanish Communisme. Wire of a Lawyer, his mother dies whereas it is only three years old.

Very assiduous reader, it controlled the English, the French and the German . He knew and attended during his youth the friends of his father like Jose María Pereda, Alfredo Vicenti, Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo and of Benito Pérez Galdós.

At the medical college it had five large professors: Federico Olóriz there Aguilera, Santiago Ramón there Cajal, Juan Madinaveitia, Manual Alonso Sañudo and Alejandro San Martín there Satrústegui. Specialist in Endocrinology, he was professor of this speciality to the Université of Madrid starting from 1931.

Founder of the Institute of medical pathology , president of the Institute of experimental endocrinology and of the Research institute biological , it contributed to establish the relation between the Psychologie and the Endocrinologie.
