Gregoire XIV

Gregoire XIV (in Latin Gregorius XIV , in Italian Gregorio XIV ), of his Christian name Niccolò Sfondrati , born with Summoned the February 11th 1535 and deceased with Rome the October 16th 1591, elected pope the December 5th 1590.

He was bishop of Crémone and cardinal of Holy-Cecile.

In 1591 it is him which confirms the Excommunication Henri IV, King of France and of Navarre.
