Greg de Vries

Greg de Vries (born the January 4th 1973 with Sundridge in Ontario with the Canada) is a player of Hockey evolving/moving in the National league of hockey.

Career

After having played its hockey of level midget and junior B in the province of Ontario, it joint rows of Falcons of the University of Bowling Green where he played during the season 1991-92. The following season it turned over to Ontario and evolved/moved with the Thunder of Niagara Falls of the' Ontario Hockey League . It will remain there until 1994.

Not having been retained by a team of the LNH at the time of her admissibility to the fishing out of entry it continued in the OHL into 1993-94 before being seen offering a contract by the Oilers d' Edmonton in March 1994. It passes then professional and joint to the Oilers of Cape-Breton the, the club-school of Edmonton in the American Ligue of hockey. He plays the season 1994-95 complete with the team of Cape-Breton before having the chance, the following season, to take his first step in the LNH.

October 1st, 1998, Oilers exchange it with Eric Fichaud and Drake Berehowsky with the Predators of Nashville in return of Mikhail Shtalenkov and Jim Dowd. He plays only 6 parts with Nashville before passing to the hands of the Avalanche of Colorado in return of a choice of round second to the fishing out of 1999 (ED Hill). As of its arrived at Colorado, it is used full-time and helps the team to obtain the title of north-western division.

In 2000-01, it obtains 17 points and the Avalanche gains the trophy of the president with a harvest of 52 victories and 118 points, which equalizes the record for best the season of the team. The season of dream of Colorado ended only when it raises the Coupe Stanley in June.

Greg de Vries plays two more season with the team before signing as free agent with the Rangers of New York at the summer 2003. He plays however only 53 parts with the formation of in '' Big APPLE '' before being exchanged with the Senators d' Ottawa in return of Karel Rachunek and Alexandre Giroux. Once again, it takes share only with 13 matches with the Sens .

The defender did not play for any team at the time of “in [[lockout]]” that the LNH knows in 2004-05. Before the beginning of the season 2005-06, the Senators send it to the Thrashers of Atlanta in company of Marián Hossa, in return, Atlanta yields the young person Dany Heatley. As of its first season for the team of the Georgia, he knows tops personnel with a harvest of 35 points in 82 matches, his best performance in career. He also helps Thrashers to reach for the first time of their history the eliminatory Séries of the LNH, but they will be inclined then in 4 meetings by Rangers of New York.

At the summer 2007, Greg de Vries signs a free contract as agent with Predators of Nashville.
