Green islands

The islands Green (in English Green Islands ) are an small group of islands of New Guinea-News-Guinea.

They are located at, halfway between the Archipel Bismarck and the archipelago of Solomon, with approximately 200  km in the east of Rabaul in New Britain and 200  km in the North-West of the island Bougainville. The largest island of the group is Nissan, among the other islands, Pinipel, Sau, Barahun and Sirot.

These islands were a place of battle of the Campagnes of the Pacific during the second world war (see article of the anglophone wiki on the Battle off the Green Islands
