Green Rose

The green pink ( Rosa chinensis Jacq. “Viridiflora”) would have been born from a Mutation of Rosa chinensis, the rose tree of China at the end of the XViie century. It was introduced into the trade in Europe in 1856 by the British seedbeds Bembridge and Harrison.

The flowers of this rose tree are very particular, the perianth being formed many Sépale S foliaceous green clearly, toothed, replacing the petals absent. These sepals brown with time. These flowers are intermediate size, approximately 5 cm in diameter, and generally gathered in bouquets. Flowering is going up and hard until the first cold ones.

The plant is a drawn up shrub of approximately a meter in height and broad, with the green foliage clearly shining, with a trace of red on the young sheets. This rose tree is easy to cultivate in the areas moderate (little resisting cold) and not very sensitive to the diseases.

The “green pink” is a curiosity which is of an interest especially for the collectors. It can enter the clothes industry of fresh or dry bouquets.
