Green Manor

Green Manor is a Franco-Belgian series of Cartoon by Denis Bodart and Fabien Vehlmann, published at Dupuis.

The action proceeds around the club of gentlemen éponyme, the Green Manor' S club . There, in the atmosphere distinguished and “so British” from the era victorienne, the members of the club occupy themselves by solving enigma police always alambiquées. Each album is composed of a series of stories without bond between them, with the manner of a collection of news, but version data base

The account is on three levels of depth:

  1. At the beginning of each album, one of the recurring characters of the series, old the Majordomo imprisoned today at the house of insane, starts to tell the stories with the doctor-in-chief. Indeed, this majordomo knew all the sordid stories of the club. He regards itself as being the club (probable reason of its imprisonment in psychiatric hospital).

  2. In many stories, the action begins in Green Manor' S Club, but very quickly a member starts to tell a history.
  3. This history is itself the framework of the majority of the account.

This series combines:

  • the savor of England victorienne;
  • sophistication of the novels of Agatha Christie or Conan Doyle (this last is even an important character of a history of the first volume);
  • much of black Humor.
