Green Loriquet
The green Loriquet ( Trichoglossus chlorolepidotus ) is a bird of the family of the alive Psittacidae in Australia.
Description
It measurement 23 cm and the two sexes are similar. Their plumage is with dominant green: the top of the head and the cheeks are emerald with blue reflections; the feathers of the neck are yellow with some green feathers. The tail is green with some feathers oranges on the outside of the tail. The sides, the thighs and the lower part of wings is green with yellow feathers. The eyes are oranges, the nozzle is coral. The legs are brown-green.
Distribution and habitat
It is common in the wooded areas of the plates of the Australian East, between Bamaga with the Queensland and Illawarra in News-Wales-of-South and in the surrounding islands.
Almentation
It nourishes nectar, of pollen, seeds, fruits, buds and insects. It nourishes also fruits in the gardens and of Maïs and Sorgho in the fields.
Lifestyle
It reproduces all the year except in March - April. Brooded is of two eggs. The duration of incubation is 25 days.
