Green Line

The green line indicates the whole of the plants (plants and algae) having a Plaste green resulting from a primary Endosymbiose (all house plants and majority of the green algas) or secondary with a green alga (the other green algas: Chlorarachniophytes and Euglénophytes).

From the point of view of the phylogeny of the hosts of the endosymbiose, it is a polyphyletic group.

From the point of view of the phylogeny of the endosymbiotes (plastids), it is a group monophyletic.

Herve Guyader and Guillaume Lecointre, in their work phylogenetic Classification of alive the , use the expression green line inopportunely to indicate the Archaeplastida .
