Great Blue is a film free-américano-Italian carried out by Luc Besson, left in 1988.

Synopsis

The film is inspired by the life of Jacques Mayol and Enzo Maiorca. It puts in scene a competition between two apneists. Jacques and Enzo know themselves since childhood. They grew together in Greece and divide since always their passion for the sea. But following the death of the father of Jacques by accident during a diving, this last returns in France. Twenty years passed, but the competition between the two men always exists. The championship of the world of apnea to Taormina in Sicily will be the occasion for the two men to find and explore a world that nobody other which they does not know as well.

Comment

The exploitation in France met one of largest successes of the Histoire of the French cinema, in particular near the adolescent . What started many analyzes to try to include/understand in what the attraction of the Vide and unsoundable fascinated this generation as much, at one time when the Désert started to be essential like advertizing landscape.

The success of the Great Blue would not have been possible without the interest and the assistance of Jacques Mayol, whose scenario is strongly inspired.
