Great Teacher Onizuka

G reat T eacher O nizuka ( グレート・ティーチャー・オニヅカ , Gurēto Tīchā Onizuka ) celebrates Shōnen Manga telling the history of Eikichi Onizuka professor in a school. Great success of Tōru Fujisawa which was published for the first time in Shōnen Magazine in Japan in 1997.

Twenty-five volumes on the whole, whose history follows that of Young GTO ( Shonan jun' have gumi ), which it follows the history of Bad Company , of the same author (31 volumes for Young GTO and a double volume for Bad Company ).
Adapted in cartoon (Televised series of 43 episodes diffused with the Japan of June 1999 at September 2000 and in France on Canal+ as from August 2004) and in drama (Televised series of 12 episodes, a special episode and a film) where the main character is incarnated by Takashi Sorimachi.

Synopsis

This apprentice professor, with last the " douteux" , comes to give us his version of teaching. Its anticonformist and direct reactions are the central axis of this series. One sees it evolving/moving with a class considered difficult, which it will try to gain with its cause.

Analyzes

GTO concentrates on 2 strong topics:

the first is the nonconformism, the non-observance of suitabilities. Fujisawa invites us not to trust us with appearances. A " délinquant" is not inevitably a person stripped of heart, he protects those which he regards as his phratry. The respect of suitabilities does not imply the generosity of heart, the " beauty intérieure" , and the reciprocal one is true, seems it to say to us.
the second topic, highlighted by the preceding point, is the inhumanity of the ordinary people. A person as you and I can become inhuman, cruel, forgetting the reality of the existence of people of which it modifies - as each and everyone - the life, often with an aim of protecting oneself from the wounds which these people could inflict to them, voluntarily or involuntarily.

Lastly, via GTO, the author also clarifies the importance of values morals among which the Empathie, fidelity in friendship and the direction of the responsibilities, which represents on our premises the passage at the adulthood.

It will be noted that while leaving a glimmer of hope by the presence of Fuyutsuki and Onizuka , the panel proposed professors offers a particularly dark panorama of the Japanese world teaching.

Characters

Eikichi Onizuka : " 22 years, single person, free like the air! " . Former chief of gang bosozoku (band of motorcyclist), it is regarded as one of terrors of Shonan (an area of Japan). He is engaged at the post of professor to manage a not very ordinary class. Its contestable manners will enable him to be made appreciate its pupils, with the detriment of the assistant headmaster of its establishment (College Kisshō de Kichijôji). He is always virgin and would wish more the being. He moves on board a Kawasaki Z2.
Azusa Fuyutsuki : It is impassioned by its work. It is a colleague of Onizuka, even more. She is the sentimental element; their relation varies according to the escapades of Eikichi. At the end of the manga it will realize that it is in love with Onizuka. She is graduate of a large university.

Ryuji Danma : Friend of Onizuka; Old arm-right of the gang and cofounder of the onibaku combi. It deals today with garage motor bike.
Nagisa Nagase : The boyfriend of Ryuji. she is often made dredge by Eikichi.

Yoshito Kikuchi : Exceptionally gifted young person with IQ of 180, it will try to trap more once Onizuka, before joining at his sides. He is very gifted in data processing.
Kunio Walled : It is a boy far from gifted for the studies and turbulent. He will quickly become an ally of Onizuka, provided that this one does not pick up his/her mother, young person and pretty…
Urumi Kanzaki : Just like Kikuchi, it has an intelligence except standards (it has a IQ higher than 200). She appears only later in the series, on the initiative of Miyabi. She is as removed from rim as Onizuka but especially computer, even dangerous… She will fall very in love with Onizuka, and its fit of jealously can be mortals (she will go until putting a snake in her pants).
Tomoko Nomura : (" Tomo-conne" , Toroko in VO or Tomo-cochonne) Young girl whose enormous turn of chest (bonnet F) is the reverse of its intelligence. After Miyabi decried it, Onizuka will launch its career of Idole. It has also weak for Onizuka.
Miyabi Aizawa : It will try very to harm the career of Onizuka. She hates Profs following a horrible experiment with one of them.
Noboru Yoshikawa : It will become the first to be joined in Onizuka after many unfruitful suicide attempts. It is practically unbeatable with all kinds of plays (vidéos or not).
Tadaaki Kusano : Friend of Walled. He seeks a girlfriend hopelessly.
Koji Fujiyoshi : Another friend of Walled. He likes Aizawa secretly. Contrary to her friends, his family is very modest and deprives itself to send it in a private school.
Mrs. Sakurai : General secretary of the college Kisshô (Seirin in VF). She entirely makes confidence with the capacities of Onizuka. In spite of its good-naturedness it is a woman who knows exactly what it makes and it never leaves anything randomly.
Hiroshi Uchiyamada : Sub-manager of the Kisshō college. It transforms its family distress into love for its cresta (white car), which will undergo many maltreatment. He is also the sworn enemy of Onizuka - " this lizard lubrique" . It will on several occasions try to return it. He thinks indeed that this last is responsible for all its misfortunes.
Suguru Teshigawara (M will shuginatagra as calls it Onizuka): Mathematics professor of the College Kisshô, graduate of the largest university of Japan, in love (insane) with Miss Fuyutsuki, it is ready to kill Onizuka to have it. Resulting from a family of senior officials, it makes an enormous complex of inferiority with respect to its family because it is the only one to have missed the entrance examination in the administration.
Anko Uehara : The driving one of the torturers of Yoshikawa. Thereafter, it will become aware of its feelings for him.
Toshiyuki Saejima : Old friend of Eikichi of the time of Young GTO. Ex-hooligan in the past named " the mad dog of Kamakura" become police officer " hardly " ripou. He does not cease trying to involve Eikichi in combine foireuses or to tap money to him. He and Ryuji are not supported.

Lesson 1

(Episode doubles ~40min)

Onizuka Eikichi and Danma Ryuji have lived for 6 years in Tokyo. Whereas Ryuji with open a garage, Onizuka wants to become professor; astonishing thing considering its past! It is as a professor-trainee that it deals with his 1^ère class… rebels.

Eikichi Onizuka is a young training teacher who receives one of the most difficult classes. One of its coeds manages to be encrusted at his place and tries to allure it. It is not against because it is the base of its vocation: to marry one of its coeds. But it is about a stratagem aiming to trap it and it make sing and this with other members of its class, being part all of a band of hooligan. Those do not even imagine which was Onizuka before its vocation and it makes them undergo a very bad evening (with the park will inokashira). The following day, it is adulated and respected by all the gang with the great astonishment and the admiration of all. As for its young coed, it has family problems which it will regulate in a not very conventional and very muscular way.

Lesson 2

The training course is finished. Onizuka forgets to pass the examination to become teacher, with his great despair. Ryûji, its close friend, nevertheless finds talks in private schools to him. It becomes acquainted with another postulating: Azusa Fuyutsuki. But being put at back Hiroshi Uchiyamada, the sub-manager (main teacher) , which treats it waste, its chances to be committed are quite mean. By managing a difficult situation with pupils returned ready with in découdre with the sub-manager, it convaint well in spite of him the director, whom he takes for the tenancière of the store of the school. Persuaded that any hope is lost, it consequently wishes to become truck driver (the GDO: Great Onizuka Driver) when Ryûji invites it to announce to him that it has a post of teacher…

Lesson 3

Onizuka is engaged in the school. It is even placed there with the great distress of the sub-manager. It will owe déchanter because the worst class of the establishment is entrusted to him: the 3^ème-4, a class of schoolboys in plus.
Un of its pupils, Yoshikawa, fan of video games, tries to commit suicide while jumping of the roof of the school. Onizuka saves it by deadening the fall using its body and while being crushed on the new car of the sub-manager.

Lesson 4

Kikuchi is probably one of the most brilliant pupils of the class of Onizuka. It is particularly gifted in data processing what enables him to create photomontages easily. And as following the example all his comrades, he does not like Profs, he tries to make return Onizuka by making it pass for a pervert. Old Profs already tried out it but Fuyutsuki believes in the reality of these stereotypes and Onizuka ends up believing that unconsciously, it makes really these things… Yoshikawa which does not find it so badly, tries to denounce his/her comrade but Onizuka prevents some and ends up solving only the business in a rather special way. Kikuchi consequently decides to cease the hostilities.

Lesson 5

Yoshikawa again tries to commit suicide and rebelotte, Onizuka saves it while exploding the new car of the sub-manager under the eyes of Kikuchi. It is learned that Anko Uehara, a girl of its class takes a malicious pleasure to humiliate it with two of his/her girlfriends. Onizuka then decides to offer a vengeace has yoshikawa and humiliates them in its turn.

Lesson 6

The mother of Uehara, president of the parents of pupils, convinced by her daughter of perversity of Onizuka wishes her reference. Whereas all shows it, Yoshikawa denounces in front of all the parents the ill-treatment of which it is victim. Incrédule, the president of the parents of pupils defends his daughter. Lesson 7

This one launches a challenge in Onizuka: a race with the stroke, that sure Fukorada setime to gain itself, swimming being its speciality. Against any surprise, Onizuka gains high the hand and with multiple recoveries. Myabi then tries to wedge Onizuka by making it pass for a pervert by charging his Tomoko friend with putting on the mini-shorts of sport of the girls in her rack…

Lesson 10

Lesson 12

Teshigawara is a brilliant mathematics professor, graduate of the best university. Besides it gives private lessons to the girl of an high ranking official of Japanese state education. It is also insane in love with Fuyutsuki. It observes it and appartment puts it on listening of sound. The walls of this one are of aillerus covered with photographs flights of Fuyutsuki. Lesson 13

Teshigawara, which was seriously wounded during the visit of Onizuka (in particular while trying to prevent it from drawing the cord which would have revealed all the photographs flights of Fuyutsuki) tries by all the means of making it return. It decides to ask the mother of its particular pupil to use of his influence. Lesson 14

Onizuka must pass the examination of Togaku at the same time as its pupils to prove that it has the necessary level to teach: it must ovtenir the best score of all the candidates for this test to keep its station. To make sure of the reference of Onizuka, Teshigawara decides to also pass the examination. Not having obviously absolutely the level, it revises during days, helped of Fuyutsuki and some of its pupils. Hidemi intervenes. She proposes has Onizuka a market: she proposes the same thing to him as Teshigawara in exchange of her intervention near her mother, but Onizuka refuses. The day of the examination, Hidemi comes again reporopser its market, always refused by Onizuka. Whereas it moves inside the school, it sees Hidemi being made remove. It decides to go to save it instead of passing its examination.

Lesson 15

Onizuka takes the risk to miss its test to save Hidemi, kidnapped. Apprès to have saved Hidemi, Onizuka tries to pass the test: it arrives 3 late hours for the test which lasts 4 hours, and suffers in addition to one hemorrhage. It finishes its test however, but its copy is exchanged by Kikuchi…

Lesson 16

On the request for Myabi, largest adversary of Onizuka, Urumi Kanzaki, raise exceptionally gifted (of an IQ higher than 200) returns in the part. Playing of Onizuka which takes it for a 19 year old girl, it makes it pass for a pervert near the police force. Then it turns over in progress, in the class of Onizuka, where it had not put the feet since the re-entry. Lesson 17

Urumi Kanzaki tests the value of the great Onizuka teacher by putting it in unimaginable situations. She threatens to commit suicide if Onizuka does not answer its desires. Onizuka refusing to obey to him, it jumps of the top of the roof of the school, follow-up of Onizuka which tries to deaden the fall to him. Lesson 18

Lesson 19

Lesson 20

Fujirakawa Fuyumi is a very large girl (1m81) compared with her comrades of the college. She secretly likes Murai, which on its side seeks a girlfriend. She slips a love letter to him (signed of initial, F, and of a class) into her rack. Walled, within sight of the signature reviews the girls who could correspond. It is persuaded that it is about Akane Fujita, and starts with the épier discreetly… until Onizuka takes the things in hand, and makes locate Murai. Lesson 21

Professor Azusa Fuyutsuki is very popular among boys of his class. Too much for the girls of this same class who badger it. It decides to make a retirement in the area or it worked in a pension, on the councils (involuntary) of Onizuka (he proposes even " to him; to stop the trade of prof"). On the spot another drama take place, and the pension since then closed, and an young girl, Hitomi, with which Azusa corresponded refuses of him to speak, because it became professor.

Lesson 22

The professor with whom had worked Azusa in its youth fell in love with another professor, married. In front of consternation its hierarchy, it resigns before the ceremony of end of the year, and flees with his/her lover. The school as for it is dedicated to the demolition, for the turning of a scene of an action film. Since then, Hitomi which corresponded with Azusa refuses of him to speak. Little by little, under the sermons of Azusa and Onizuka, Hitomi starts to include/understand and accpeter the situtation. Fuyutsuki reinflated by this episode decides to return to the College, when Hitomi is at the head put to recover the Orgue in the school which will be demolished in the minutes which follow. Lesson 23

Onizuka received a complete paperboard of " letters maudites" (letter chains some that it is necessary to make follow under penalty of curse and of dead at the end of 7 days). Gaussant itself of these beliefs, it burns the paperboard with its cigaratte, and by a light-back the posterior one is burned. After multiple accidents it starts to doubt the curse. After one enième accident, it rerouve at the hospital, and passes a radio. He sees on the radio a multitude of white spots on the level of his lungs, and persuaded that he has a cancer, he wants to finish his life in beauty. Fuyutsuki persuaded it also of its cancer, reaches its ultimate requète, but they are stopped by the pupils of Onizuka, who after investigation reveal to him that he does not have anything.

Lesson 25

A new nurse is committed with the college, Kadena Nao. Beautiful is bearing rather light behaviors, they makes the unaminity among boys, but in the girls also, with whom it sells beauty products at broken price. Fuyutsuki realizes that Nao makes use of its station to run out a true stock of goods, energy of the beauty products, to carries-bohneur. One evening that it left with Onizuka and its friend, it realizes that it is also the night call-girl in a nightclub.

Lesson 26

Kadena Nao is in fact old an urban racing driver, known under the name of " Hakosuka" queen;. According to the legend, it would have lost only one race against an unknown, this one ending in an accident. It was acted in fact of his brother, his mechanic, who one day at the wheel of his car, would have been done caused in duel, would have taken part in a race. Lesson 28
