Gravitron

The Gravitron (also known under the name Starship 2000 ) is a type of attraction.

The first Manège of this type was built by Wisdom Industries, in 1983. It quickly became an attraction of fair and popular fun fair. It is an alternative of the Rotor. Attractions of this type were built under the license ARM in England and Ferrari in Australia.

Concept and operation

Attraction is appeared as an entirely closed circular room. Along the interior walls the 45 upholstered places are which accommodate the passengers. Once they took seat, the room is closed and begins its rotation. The Centrifugal force plate passengers against the mobile paroies.

Attraction goes thus to 24 turns per minutes. At this speed, the passengers feels a pressure which is equivalent to 4 times that of gravity.

Accident

In April 2004, an accident took place with the Fun fair of Dade County Youth, in Miami, in Florida. An young girl was ejected horse-gear. Attraction was then removed.
