Gratton Elvis

Elvis Gratton is the subject of multiple films Québécois and televised series of the same name carried out by Pierre Falardeau. Its first realization was a Short film (1981) having the title of Elvis Gratton , followed by two other named short films the Holidays of Elvis Gratton (1983) and Pas yet Elvis Gratton! (1985). The three were to leave later in format VHS the same year under the name Elvis Gratton: The king of the kings . Two continuations were produced later, Elvis Gratton 2: Miracle with Memphis (1999) and Elvis Gratton 3: The return of Elvis Wong (2004).

Intrigue

The first film turns around Bob Gratton (played by Julien Poulin, which has coécrit and codirigé films with Falardeau) which has a passion for Elvis Presley. Its goal in the life is to become the best imitator of Elvis, and is achieved by a local exposure of talent of television. He manages to gain a contest which offers a cruising and holidays on the fictitious island of the Republic of Santa Banana. Some time after its return from holidays, Gratton must put its costume of Elvis once more, but since it took weight, it has evil to thread it. It crumbles on the scene during a performance and dies. In the final scene of the film where its coffin is put out of ground, it emerges from it, completely alive.

The second film turns around its recent adventures after being discovered by a business manager of reputation (D-Bill), and its accession to glory as a high-speed motorboat of the popular music.

The third film sees Gratton with the head of a company of communication and its handling of information (radio-lock). In this feature-length film, Elvis Gratton becomes purchaser of a very powerful media empire. Throughout film, Pierre Falardeau draws up a satire of the world of the media and information.

Other aspects

Elvis Gratton appeared (remarkably not politicized) in 1996 in a publicity campaign as a spokesperson of the year for Opération Red nose, a local initiative of the Quebec to provide a service of raccompagnement to the house which aims at taking back outgoing people of evenings sprinkled well for the period of the Festivals. Every year, the Operation Red nose request with various humorists and personalities to take part in its activities.
