Grangeon
A grangeon is an old temporary dwelling of wine use in the Bugey, one of the areas of Ain.
Presentation
The grangeon was a shelter for the Pressoir and the Outil S of the Vigneron. This one also made use of it of dormitory after long day's works in its vine. It was also the gathering place at the time of the Vendange.The grangeon bugeysien belongs to the big family of the " maison" or " maisonnette of the champs" that one met formerly in many areas of France: thus the maset of Uzège (Gard), the vacuum-bottle of the Resident of Agen, etc
It does not remain from now on any more that a few tens of grangeons in Bugey and they are hardly any more used for the vine growers. A certain tourist literature seized some and it is said that a ramequin in a grangeon is a stage impossible to circumvent of any visit in Bugey.
