Grand Prix RESULTING
The Grand Prix RESULTING is a whole of international competitions of Figure skating created by the RESULTING, created in 1995.
There exist four disciplines:
- individual ice-skating, ladies
- individual ice-skating, men
- ice-skating couples
- dance on ice

- Trophy Eric Bompard, France (before 2004, this competition was called Trophée Lalique)

Grand Prix Junior RESULTING
He comprises 8 tests which proceed August with December. The final gathers the 8 best skaters of each discipline. For season 2007/2008, the 8 tests are:- JGP Lake Placid, the United States

- JGP Tallinn, Estonia

History
Organized by the federations of figure skating of the country-hosts, international competitions have been held for several years before the appearance of the Grand Prix RESULTING.In 1995, the Figure skating was very popular. Television was saturated with professional competitions conceived especially to be televised, whereas the competitions known as amateurs were ignored. To cure the situation, the federations of figure skating of the the United States, of the Canada, the Germany, the France and the Japan started to plan their competitions in a series with a co-operation for the rights of television and the silver prices for the skaters, financed by the sale of the rights of television. The RESULTING was included in the organization and made sure of the rights of televisions to the international level.
During its creation at season 1995/1996, the series resulted known under the name of Série of the champions . It is only at season 1998/1999 that the name of Grand Prix RESULTING is used, when the RESULTING obtained the rights for this name.
In 1996, during its second year, a competition in Russia is added. With the autumn 2003, the Cut of the Nations which proceeded in Germany is replaced by the Coupe of China. The RESULTING had negotiated a more favorable contract of television with this country.
In 1997, the RESULTING created a similar series of competitions for the skaters of level junior. Known at the beginning under the name of " RESULTING Series" Junior; , these competitions are called today Grand Prix Junior RESULTING.
At the time of season 2003/2004, the new marking system, called COP, was introduced into the competitions of the Grand Prix to test it. COP replaced the system of the " 6.0" definitively at season 2004/2005.
Assignment of the skaters
The skaters are assigned with the competitions is as a " seeded" or by invitation. " seeded" is signal 6 of the championships of the world of the previous year. Signal 6 and the skaters who were classified between 7th and the 12th place at the time of the precedents championships of the world are ensured to have two competitions. The organizing federation can invite three skaters of its country for his competition.
Scale of points
The Grand Prix RESULTING uses a system of points based on the classification obtained in each competition. The points are distributed according to this scale:Sirs, Ladies, Dance
1st place = 15 points
2nd place = 13 points
3rd place = 11 points
4th place = 9 points
5th place = 7 points
6th place = 5 points
7th place = 4 points
8th place = 3 points
Couples
1st place = 15 points
2nd place = 13 points
3rd place = 11 points
4th place = 9 points
5th place = 7 points
6th place = 5 points
The accumulated points are compiled after the last competition of the series, which is usually the NHK Trophy. Signal 6 of each discipline is qualified for the final.
Finale of the Grand Prix RESULTING
The final usually proceeds towards mid-December, after the 6 competitions of the Grand Prix are supplemented. The place of the finale changes at each year.Signal 6 of each discipline which accumulated the most points qualifies for the final. Always according to the number of points, three substitutes are named, in the event of abandonment of one of the skaters of signal 6.
