Castle of Grancy

The castle of Grancy is a building of the 18th century built with the site and with materials of the castle of the Middle Ages. The commun runs are old. A garden with the Frenchwoman and a beautiful park confer on the unit an unquestionable charm. The last lord of Grancy was Auguste-Victor de Senarclens (1733-1807). His/her son César-Auguste de Senarclens (1763-1836) sold in 1819 the field, representing 100 hectares, with the tale Louis de Pourtalès whose Sophie girl married Abram Denis Alfred de Rougemont. The field passed to its descendants which in 1915 sold it with the widow of their farmer Moinat louis. The grandsons of the aforesaid the widow, Philippe and Georges Moinat, sold in 1973 what remained field, that is to say the castle, the commun runs immediate, the court, the garden and the orchards with Mr Marcel Wurlod, cantonal judge of Vaud.
