Granada is a city of the Nicaragua, capital of the department of the same name. It is localized on the west coast of the Lac Nicaragua, and to approximately 18 km with Pacific Ocean bites. The city is dominated by the volcano Mombacho. Granada aspires to being the future tourism in Nicaragua, this being due to the growing attention of the tourists coming in particular from the France, of the Italy, the Germany and the Spain.

Granada was founded in 1524 by Francisco Hernández de Córdoba and was a long time the principal city of the area. It was plundered several times by Pirates coming from the France and the England during the 17th sciècle.

After the independence of Nicaragua, Granada became, in alternation with León, the capital of the country. Granada was preferred by the preserving modes, whereas the liberals preferred León.
