Graduat

The graduat is an old rank of higher education in Belgium. It led at the end three years of studies under graduated. Removed at the beginning of cycle at the time of the school year 2004-2005, the last carriers of the title of graduated should be graduate at the time of the school year 2006-2007.

Following the Process of Bologna, the graduat from now on is replaced by the rank of baccalaureat such as it is exempted in schools of higher education of the short type not-academic in Belgium.

The graduat still remains of topicality for the teaching of Social advancement (the evening) even if it will quickly owe alligner with the European systême.

Old structure of higher education in Belgium

Higher education of the short type: Graduat or Régendat - 3 years
Higher education of the long type:

Higher education of the long type university:

higher education of first cycle: Candidature - 2 years, 3 in medicine then
higher education of second cycle: Technical License, (sciences applied) or Doctorate (medical sciences) - 2 to 4 years

Higher education of the long type nonuniversity:

higher education of first cycle: Candidature - 2 years then
higher education of second cycle: License or engineer - 2 to 3 years
