Gréard octave

Octave Gréard (Transfers, April 18th 1828 - April 25th 1904) is a pedagog and university French.

Former student of the National university, it made a long career in teaching. Octave Gréard was mainly at the origin of the creation of the colleges of young girls and played a part in the reform of the baccalaureat.

He was elected member of political morals the Academy of Science and in 1875 and the French Academy in 1886. A college bearing its name is located in the 8th district of Paris.
