Government Museum and Art Gallery
The Government Museum and Art Gallery (Museum of the Government and Art gallery) is a museum located at Chandigarh in India. Built according to the plans of the French architect Le Corbusier, it was inaugurated the May 6th 1968. This museum shelters an art gallery and a wing of the building shelters the Natural History Museum (Museum of natural history) and the City Museum (Museum of the city).
Structure
The Government Museum and Art Gallery resembles two other museums drawn by Le Corbusier: the Museum of Ahmedabad to Ahmedabad in India in 1948 and the National Museum off Western Art with Tokyo with the Japan in 1949.
Exposure
The museum exposes approximately: 10000 objects of which 627 sculptures of Gandhâra, approximately: 4000 miniature Indian paintings and 200 medieval Indian sculptures.
