Government Charles de Gaulle (1)
France - provisional Modes (1944-1947)
The end of this first government of the general de Gaulle is due to the strong progression of the Communists to the elections of October 1945 (26 % of the voices and 160 seats), date from which they assert the direction of the government highly.
Chronology
1944
- June 3rd: Beginning of the provisional government of the French Republic, chaired by the general.
- June 14th: Charles de Gaulle arrives at Bayeux released.
- June 26th: Schedule instituting the courses secondary roads of justice to consider the facts “revealing the intention to support the companies of the enemy”.
- June 27th: Schedule on administrative purification.
- August 9th: Schedule restoring republican legality.
- August 26th: Triumphal procession of Charles de Gaulle on the Fields-Élysées. De Gaulle seizes the power in Paris.
- August 28th: Incorporation of the French Forces of the interior (FFI) in the regular army.
- August 31st: GPRF settles in Paris .
- September 2nd: The first Council of Ministers of the GPRF in Paris. Official beginning of the provisional government of the Charles de Gaulle general.
- September 9th: Rehandling and widening of the de Gaulle cabinet.
- September 12th: At the time of a speech to the Palate of Chaillot, de Gaulle specifies her policy.
- September 14th: Beginning of a series of voyages of Charles de Gaulle in province: Marseilles, Toulouse (14-18 seven).
- September 15th: Creation of course special of Justice within the framework of purification.
- September 23rd: FFI “are amalgamated” with the regular army.
- October 5th: Schedule confirming that of the CFLN on the right to vote of the women who obtain finally the right to vote.
- October 16th: Schedule on economic purification.
- October 28th: Dissolution of the patriotic Militia.
- November 8th: Creation of the commission Langevin-Walloon on education (it will return his report/ratio on June 19th, 1947).
- November 18th: Schedule establishing a High Court of justice, to judge the high ranking officials of the Vichy government.
- November 26th: Constitution of the popular Republican movement (MRP).
- December 14th: Nationalization of the energy resources with the creation of the “national Collieries of North and Pas-de-Calais”.
1945
- January 16th: Nationalization of the Renault factories and creation of the “Renault Control”.
- January 19th: Lawsuit of the writer Robert Brasillach. He is condemned to died and carried out the February 6th.
- January 25th: Lawsuit and judgment with the perpetual reclusion of Charles Maurras.
- February 22nd: Creation of the work's councils in the establishments of more than 100 employees (at least 50 as from May 1946).
- March 3rd: Schedule creating a single elementary school.
- April 9th: Nationalization of Gnome and the Rhone and Air France (June 16th).
- April 29th: Election local (29 avr. - May 13rd). The women vote for the first time.
- May 16th: France receives a seat of permanent member at the Safety advice of the United Nations.
- July 23rd with the August 15th: Lawsuit of the Pétain marshal, condemned to death, it has its sorrow commuted to perpetual detention the August 23rd.
- October 4th:
- Beginning of the ordinances on the Social security and creation of the ENA (National school of administration) (Oct. 4-19).
- Beginning of the lawsuit of Pierre Laval (4 to Oct. 8), condemned to death.
- October 15th: Executions of Joseph Darnand, chief of the French Militia, and Pierre Laval.
- October 18th: Creation of the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique (ECA).
- October 21st: Election of the first constituent Assembly, broad victory of the Left. The women had the right to vote for the first time with a referendum
- November 2nd 1945: End of the Government Charles de Gaulle (1) and beginning of the Government Charles de Gaulle (2).
