Governed Loisel

Régis Loisel is a Dessinateur and Band-drawn Scénariste of French.

Childhood

Régis Loisel was born the December 4th 1951, with Saint-Maixent-the School (in France), in the department of the Two-Sevres. Child, it draws already characters of Disney (Donald, more particularly) on the beautiful sheets than his/her mother offers to him occasionally.

Years 1970

Loisel settles with Paris in 1972, it is there that all starts. It is just twenty years old when its first board is published in 1972 in the Nickelled Feet Magazine. The following year, he briefly attends the courses of Cartoon of the university of Vincennes, animated in particular by Jean-Claude Mézières. It is there that it meets Patrick Cothias and Serge To tighten, with which it remakes the world with the terrace of some coffees, the Bohemian one saw. The projects flow, succeed, do not succeed, it does not matter. They develop at the same time friendly and professional bonds: their short stories, often of fantastic inspiration, appear successively in Pilote (1974), Mormoil (1975), Pif Gadget (" Kergenec" captain; , 1975), Cough Bourin (quarterly which it launched to beginning of the year 70 with Taffin, Anne-Marie Simond, Huts, Loro and To tend), icy Plop (“Norbert the Lizard”, 1977), Fluid (1977), Metal howling (1978). These accounts will be taken again partly in 1978 in the collection the Night ones published at Kesselring. In 1975, the first boards of the Search of the bird of time are published in Imagine (luxurious review directed by Rodolphe). During these years, many illustrations of Governed Loisel are published in addition in the press (Télérama, Absolute,…), the edition (the School of the Leisures, Hatchet, Princess,…) and publicity. In 1979, it founds the workshop Bergamo with Michel Rouge and Olivier Taffin.

Years 1980

In 1981, it begins “Pyrénée”, a history which it will finish in 1998 with the assistance of Philippe Sternis, and draws “Jonas Folies” (series of gags in a board carried out with Serge To tend) in Jonas (religious magazine of the Fleurus editions). This series will be republished, partly, in 1990 in Hop! Always with Tending, he proposes a new adaptation of “the Search of the Bird of Time”, with the Dargaud editions. The series will be prépubliée in Charlie Mensuel between 1982 and 1987. Success will be considerable. New work is added consequently to the bibliographical references of Loisel: a portfolio at Trihan (“the offering”, 1984), of the short accounts for Circus (1986) and Pilot & Charlie (1988), of the illustrations of press, the posters of theater, of serigraphies,… In 1989, Humanoïdes Associés publish Troubles Festivals, a collection of stories and illustrations erotic. The texts are of Pink Guirec, pseudonym of his own wife (Marie-Helene). It is as in this year as it leaves Paris to settle with Perros-Guirec.

Years 1990

Loisel only launches out in 1990 in a very free and personal interpretation of the work of Sir James Matthew Barrie " Peter Pan" (published at Winds of West). It signs in parallel the collective album Mali-Mello, notebook of a voyage to Mali. In 1993, it illustrates what it regards as a pure chief of work of fun, " The Last Drop is always for the slip" , an erotic work written by Georges-Philippe Taladiart and published in the editions the Siren. In parallel, he sponsors the Small Dreamers, the first volume of the collection “Grain of sand” of the Vents editions of West. In October 1998, after 11 years of interruption, leaves the second cycle of the Search the Bird of Time, " The Friend Javin" , in which Loisel is Co-scenario writer and, too taken by Peter Pan, “is satisfied” to carry out the story-board and the setting colors, the drawing being ensured by Lidwine. In November 1998, he entrusts to Philippe Sternis the responsibility to put Pyrénée in images, at Glénat, a setting in scene of animals around a little girl. Towards end of the year 90, it launches out in the writing of scenarios for other authors…

Years 2000

… Guilmard with “Farfelingues”, or Christine Oudot with " Fanfreluche for a sirène" (which will leave in 2001 at Vents West). These last years, Loisel was likely to carry out its dream of childhood, while working on two of the cartoons of Disney: Mulan and Atlantis. In the audio-visual field, it also took part in the story board of the film Tom Thumb and conceived the video game Gift (Cryo editions). After having resided several years in Brittany then at Loaches, town of Indre-et-Loire in the south of Turns, Régis Loisel lives from now on with Montreal (Canada). Its work was rewarded, in January 2002, by the Grand Prix of the festival of Angouleme and Loisel was thus President of the edition 2003. In partnership with Trip, Loisel carried out general Magasin , data base having for framework a small Canadian parish in the Twenties. The first two volumes, Marie and Serge , left in 2006.
