Governed Barthelemy Sheep-Duvernet , born the May 3rd 1770 with the Puy-en-Velay and died the July 27th 1816 with Lyon, is a Général French.
Biography
Volunteer in 1785, it is used initially for the colonies, in particular in Guadeloupe. It engaged at 19 years in the Régiment of the Guadeloupe and was captain executive officer with the Siège of Toulon.It takes part then in all the wars of the Révolution and the Empire. It made then the campaigns of Italy and was distinguished especially with Arcole. Sent as colonel in Spain, in 1806, it returned Major general and made from there the campaigns of 1813 and 1814.
It is made prisoner at the time of the capitulation of Dresden, in 1813.
Military governor of Valence at the time of the first Restoration, it joins with Napoleon at the time of the Hundred Days. Named, during the Hundred Days, member of the Room of the representatives like deputy of the Haute-Loire and is opposed to the return Bourbons, even after Waterloo. It is named governor of Lyon the July 2nd 1815.
The Ordinance of July 24th, 1815 in fact a traitor with the king, liable to the the Council of war. It then hides during nearly one year in a royalist friend , Mister de Meaux, then, thinking the alleviated spirits, reappears and is constituted captive. The council of war condemns it to dead the July 15th 1816. His wife in vain tries to obtain her grace from the king, but he is shot the July 27th, way of Narrow, in Lyon.

Posthumous recognition
After her death, its family raises a monument with the to him Cimetière of Loyasse, in Lyon.It appears in 20th position of title II on the will of the Emperor, who bequeaths 100.000 francs to his children
Edouard Herriot, mayor of Lyon of 1905 with 1957, not very obliging with regard to the military tribunals, makes give the name of Sheep-Duvernet to the street which sheltered the military tribunal of Lyon.
To Paris, a street and a subway station bear its name.
