The ornithologist Xavier Raspail (1840-1926) lived in Gouvieux, commune concerned with his principal publication: " An ornithological Station in Oise. New observations on the Birds having nested in the perimeter of the territory of Gouvieux, followed list of the Birds which there are regularly or accidentally of passage" Mém. Zool plowshare. France , 1905,18: 32-200.

The Swiss writer Charles-Albert Cingria (1883-1954) located at Gouvieux of the passages of several of his works, in particular Graffiti (1941), River navigation (1942) and, especially, the Camp of César (1945).
