History
Old mode
At XIe and 12th centuries Gourin was the seat of a Viscount who extended on the parishes from Gourin, Guiscriff, Langonnet, Faouët and Leuhan and the truces of Roudouallec, the Saint, Lanvénégen and the Trinity. Among the Viscounts of Gourin let us quote the names of Cadoret which was raised in 1075 against the duke Hoël and Tanguy Ier which took part in the first crusade with its duke Alain Fergent. The Viscount was attached to the ducal field since 1265. Gourin then becomes the seat of a ducal bar which after the act of union of Brittany in France in 1532 will become the seat of a royal seneschalsy until its suppression with the Revolution.
