Goulven Mazéas

Goulven Mazéas , born on March 15th 1895 with Lannilis (Finistere), died in 1981, trader of potatoes with seed, medal-holder military, federalistic, Breton militant.

Origin

After the First World War, he is trader of potatoes to seed with Guingamp. He was besides the creator of a variety named “ Keltia ”.

Breton militant

Very marked by the First World War, during which it was decorated for its courage with the face, it became Pacifiste, Antimilitariste and Fédéraliste. Its military decorations will be withdrawn to him to have supported a Conscientious objector.

Autonomism

In particular, it militates for the Breton Culture and the Fédéralisme.

With the partial legislative elections of April 6th 1930, Mazéas is candidate with the elections for the Parti Breton Separatist (PAB) in the second district Guingamp. But it obtained only 376 votes.

After the congress of Guingamp in August 1931, the PAB is divided into two. The most intransigent nationalists found the Breton National Parti while Mazéas, Morvan Marchal and Maurice Duhamel found the Federalistic Ligue of Brittany by taking again the program of the PAB. Mazéas becomes the president of this league.

In the first number of the review of this political movement, it indicates in its leading article:

Federalism

In 1934, at the end of the league, it joined the Breton federalistic Mouvement, with Gestalen, Francis Bayer of Kern, Morvan Marchal and Rafig Tullou.

Second world war

During the Second world war, it is stopped by the Germans. His wife, her mother and her daughter will be also stopped (his Weill wife is questioned by Perron of Maurin) then off-set with the Camp of Drancy.

After the war

He is delegated European Union of the Fédéraliste S to the congress of Europe with $the Hague in 1948 and chair trade union of the traders of Brittany.

His/her daughter Claudine Mazeas will collect in the years 1960 popular songs in Breton in the south of the area of Guingamp, and will belong to the circles of left, animated by Michel Phlipponeau, geographer of Rennes.
