Standpoint

Francoise de Panafieu refused the forced feminization of the words and the functions continuing to sign her mails by the heading The deputy and mayor , position conforms to that of the French Academy and to the traditional letters . Thus adopting the same position as Elisabeth Badinter she took party against the law on the Parité, estimating that it was only about one law alibi, devaluing and insulting for the women. She posted herself against the lengthening of the time of the Voluntary interruption of pregnancy (IVG) from 10 to 12 weeks, against the Pilule of the following day and against the PaCS by attachment with traditional family values .

Since 2002, the deputy, is member of the UMP, exit partly of old RPR.

In an interview with the Sunday newspaper of July 2002, she declared favorable to the assumption of a reopening of the closed houses as had just done it the Germany, estimating that the prostitutes could be there in better safety.

In June 2003, in the weekly magazine VSD , it estimated that a mayor, in particular that of Paris did not have not really its place in the Gay Pride, an annual homosexual demonstration organized in the streets of the capital.

With a total of 9% of social housing, the 17th district of Paris was classified at the end of 2005 in 8th position for the number of such residences, and in 6th position for the reception of the SDF. The law SRU not forcing to tighten to 20% the level of social housing on the level of the district but of the city (average of 14,3% in Paris), it thus seeks to preserve a certain social diversity while imposing in the future programmes of reconversion of grounds of State (RFF-SNCF) more than 50% of residences accessible to the property for the middle-classes (of which couples with two children).

In 2005, it becomes national secretary of UMP, in charge of the culture, then in 2006 acting general in load of the security questions .

The October 16th 2006, it gives an opinion in favor of the Right to vote and eligibility from nonEuropean abroad to the municipal elections, clearly dissociating its political camp with the risk to shock most of the UMP electorate. By adopting this discussed position, it specified nevertheless that it preferred that the Parliament envisages in this case a condition of reciprocity with the countries of origin.
