Gord Dineen

Gord Dineen (born the September 21st 1962 with Toronto in the Ontario) is a former professional player of Hockey. It evolved/moved at the station of defender in the Ligue of hockey of Ontario (OHL), in the central league of hockey of the the United States (CHL), das the National league of hockey (LNH), in the American Ligue of hockey (LAH) and in the international league of hockey (LIH). He was thereafter trainer in the LIH, the league of hockey of the east coast (East Coast Hockey League - ECHL) and in the LAH.

Career in club

Dineen begins its professional path in 1980 while playing for the Greyhounds de Sault co. Marie of the OHL during two seasons. Between these two seasons, it is presented to the RepĂȘchage of entry in the LNH 1981 and is chosen by the Islanders of New York in second round (42e choice) and will play its first match in the LNH for the Saison LNH 1982-83.

This season there, he plays almost all the time with the team of CHL of the Checkers of Indianapolis and at the conclusion of the season he receives the title of the best defender of the season (trophy Bobby Orr).

He will play hockey until the end of the season 1999-2000.

In 1990-91 and 1991-92, it plays some matches of season in the team of the Penguins de Pittsburgh which gains the Coupe Stanley and is the captain of the Senators d' Ottawa for the Saison LNH 1993-94.

He will have played on the whole 528 matches in the LNH with 16 goals and 90 assistances.

Career of trainer

At the time of its last season of player, he is also assistant trainer of the team of the Grizzlies of Utah. He is currently the assistant trainer of Portland cement the Pirates of the AHL.
