Goodluck Jonathan

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is a politician Nigerian born in 1957. Jonathan is governor of the State de Bayelsa since the December 9th 2005 and member of the People' S Democratic Party (PDP). It is invested vice-president the May 29th 2007.

Jonathan is elected vice-governor of the State de Bayelsa, state producing of oil, in 1999 on the ticket of the governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha. The Alamieyeseigha governor is put in examination then put under judicial control at the the United Kingdom for a business of money laundering in 2005. He is relieved by the Parliament of the State de Bayelsa and Jonathan becomes governor.

Prudence Jonathan, the woman of Jonathan it was also put in examination for money laundering by the federal commission of fight against corruption (the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ). Jonathan is the subject also of an investigation on behalf of the EFCC on the financing in concerts in Nigeria with Beyoncé, Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z.

PDP elects Umaru Yar' Adua like candidate for the presidential election of April 2007 and this last chooses Jonathan like candidate with the vice-presidency. The choice of Jonathan as candidate to the vice-presidency is based on division géographico-nun of the country: if Yar' Adua represents Moslem North, Jonathan represents him to it Southern Christian. Jonathan was not favorite among the candidates of the South to obtain the nomination as a vice-president. The candidates with a “too strong personality” as Peter Odili were isolated not to make shade with the candidate with the presidency Umaru Yar' Adua.
