Composition
Whereas the tube of the Lovin' Spoonful, Daydream , turned on the waves at the end of spring 1966, the Beatles were recording Revolver . Paul McCartney was at John Lennon in Kenwood, Weybridge, in the south-west of the London agglomeration , like often at that time, when it was a question of working together. It wanted “to write a similar trick”.Just like Daydream , Good Day Sunshine speaks about love by a superb time, and it is that the weather was very nice during the day when this song was written. There is a “sentence hidden” in the song. Just after Paul McCartney sang “ she feels good ”, One hears slightly the voice of Ringo Starr in the channel of right-hand side of the version Stéréo. One clearly does not include/understand what he says but it was generally allowed that it was “ she fuckin' does ” (with “it feels well” Paul, he would answer “it does it, whore! ”).
