Golfech

Golfech is a common French, located in the department of Tarn-et-Garonne and the area the Midday-Pyrenees.

Geography

This site is known for the Nuclear plant of Golfech, of 2 sections of 1300 MW. This power station is highly disputed by the local ecologists. On the line of the photograph are the towers cooling power station, highest of Europe (178,5 m) because of the configuration of the valley of the the Garonne.

Economy

The surplus of energy contained in the water of the coolant circuit of the power station is used for the heating of the swimming pool, the Old people's home and the school of the commune.

Golfech is also known for the Ascenceur with fish of sound hydraulic Barrage.
