Around film
- Sean Connery did not go to the the United States for turning. All its American scenes in fact are turned in Pinewood.
- Honor Blackman is the first James Bond girl to have been also the heroin of Bowler hat and leather boots , with Diana Rigg and Joanna Lumley, both in At the secret service of Its Majesty .
- Contains the most famous counterpart of the series:
- James Bond: " You expect me to talk? "
- Goldfinger: " No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die! "
- the first day of turning, the realizer Guy Hamilton realized that the German actor Gert Frobe did not speak English. He asked him to pronounce his counterparts very quickly and made it double by the British actor Michael Collins.
- Prudish, the leaders of the studios planned to change the name of Pussy (" chatte") Galore in Kitti (" minette") Galore.
- Sean Connery was rather nervous during the scene where 007 is immobilized on the table has to cut out with the laser of Goldfinger. During the three days of turning, a member of the team hid under the table to burn the way of the laser to the blowtorch.
- When 007 electrocutes Oddjob with Fort Knox, the actor Harold Sakata was burned with the hands. Guy Hamilton required of him why it had not released the bars of the deposit. Sakata answered: " You did not say " cross! " , then I am accroché."
- the hangar with planes of Fort Knox carries a streamer welcoming the Russhon general. Adviser technical film and friend of the productur Cubby Broccoli, the Russhon lieutenant-colonel obtained the authorization to fly over Fort Knox for the decorator Ken ADAM.
- the actress Honor Blackman carried a jewel in the shape of gold finger (goldfinger) of 22 carats to the first of film, on September 17th, 1964 in London. On this occasion, more than five thousand fans were massed in front of the room.
- In the original copy of Goldfinger, the countdown of the atomic bomb of Strong Knox stops to 003. Broccoli made remake the plan on a wink: 007.
- In Goldfinger, the radar screen of the Aston MARTIN DB5 is empty. The charts were added by the team of the special effects during the post-production.
- the attack of Strong Knox:
- the decoration of the warehouse of Strong Knox was composed of false gold ingots, piled up on a 13 meters height, while knowing that such a fitting would be impossible in the genuine warehouse because of the weight of the ingots.
- the team of Ken Adam constantly worked to polish the false ingots to make them very brilliant under the spots of the studio.
- taking as a starting point photographs, Adam built an exact counterpart of the outside of Strong Knox, including an alley of one kilometer and concrete half, exceeding the 100 thousand dollars.
Various errors
Like all films of the Sixties (and even afterwards), Goldfinger is equipped with characteristic special effects; the Incrustation (in particular for the air scenes and of control) there is particularly used. One can note some strange phenomena also there (commun run has many James Bond, or action films of the time), even of inconsistencies, in particular of the explosion spectacular which do not take place normally of être.
- When James Bond sends in the decorations the cars of her prosecutors, those roll more or less slowly on a slope, and abruptly start to flame like torches, then to explode.
- At the time of the final scene, James Bond and Pussy succeed in escaping from a plane whose cabin was depressurized while jumping in parachute. First strange detail, a shot successful to completely explode a port-hole, so that there remains nothing any more but the hole. Secondly, Goldfinger which a larger stoutness than James Bond is aspired, but not James Bond. Moreover, when the plane is crushed in the ocean, it explodes… in contact with water…
