Jerusalem of gold (in Hebrew: ירושליםשלזהב - Yeroushalayim chel zahav ) is a popular song Israeli written and sung by Naomi Shemer in 1967.
The song was written the day before the Guerre the six day old and of the conquest by Tsahal of Jerusalem-Is, which had been annexed by the Jordan since the Israeli-Arab Guerre of 1948. It was thus the song which motivated the Israeli soldiers during the conflict.
This song was regarded during one moment with the Knesset as possible a new national anthem in the place of Hatikvah.
