Golbey
Golbey is a common French, located in the department of the the Vosges and the area Lorraine.
Its inhabitants is called Golbéens.
Geography
Golbey is a city located at the North-West of Épinal on which it bordering, is established on left bank of the the Moselle. It is crossed by the Canal of the East which directs in south-west towards the Forging mills. The forest of Stock-Thaon occupies the west of the communal territory.
History
An occupation with the Paleolithic and the Neolithic is confirmed by the discovery of tools in five principal stations. The Roman presence also: statuettes, grinding stone. ; Blasonnement: Sinople to the toothed wheel of money, eight teeth, with the chief of gold to the band of mouths, charged with three torn off money fir trees.- Composed by Golbéen Louis Mathieu, the blazon was adopted on October 10th, 1957. The green points out the traditional cultures of the city and the toothed wheel its modern industrialization. The chief takes again the colors of Lorraine and the three fir trees of the department of the Vosges.
