Jean Going is a Botaniste French, born towards 1650 and dead the November 11th 1738 with Paris.
Wire of the botanist Nicolas Going (? - 1678), it succeeds to him at the same time the royal Académie of sciences and the post of caretaker and director of the cultures to the Jardin of the king. In 1694, it loses its position of director, which is removed. The same year, the project of the Academy, which had undertaken the edition of the Mémoires to be used with the history of the plants under the direction as Denis Dodart (1634-1707), is abandoned. Going the pension loses then which it received for its participation. It decides to carry out only the publication of this work and finds the engraved boards carried out on this occasion. But he dies before to have been able to finish it.
