It occupies a large plate, whose greatest part is between 750 m and 900 Mr. of altitude and form the boundary line between the 3 river great systems of Brazil: in the south Goiás is drained by the Rio Paranaíba, a tributary of the Paraná; in the east it belongs to the basin of the Rio São Francisco; and towards north its water runs out towards the Rio Araguaia and the Rio Tocantins and their affluents.
Other important rivers in the State are the Meia Ponte, Aporé, São Marcos, the Rio Corumbá, Rio Claro, Rio Paranã, Rio Maranhão, and Rio Preto. None of these rivers is navigable except on short distances and light boats.
The State is covered with a known shrubby savanna in Brazil like campo Cerrado, although there are also tropical forests along the rivers. This cerrado extremely was put at evil these last years by the breeding cattle and invading them plantations of soya, which involved heavy losses in fauna and the forest cover.
The climate of the plate of Goiás is subtropical. The average temperatures vary between 26 °C during the hottest month and 22 °C during coldest. The year is cut in 2 seasons: that of the rains (October-March) and the season dries (April-September).

What shows well that the South American continent is by far the most sprinkled planet.
The great area Mid-west, including/understanding the States de Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso C Sul, and the Federal District, is among the areas with more strong growth of Brazil. The population of Goiás has triplet of 1950 to 1980 and increases still quickly. However beyond the agglomeration of Goiânia, most of Goiás under-is very populated. The areas of stronger human concentration are in south-east, close to Goiânia and its zone, close to the border of the Minas Gerais, (Catalão, Rio Verde, Jataí, and Caldas Novas), like in the neighborhoods of Brasilia (Formosa, Planaltina de Goiás, and Luziânia).
