Gohei

The gohei (), also called onbe () or heisoku (), are Shide (or, paper serpentines) fixed at a pillar or a Shimenawa and used for the rites Shintô with the Japan. They were before made of fabric and indicate that the place in which they are is crowned. The manner of folding paper is different according to the sanctuaries.

Fixed at a stick and used as object of worship (, go-shintai ) of the sanctuaries shintô , they are called nusa () and are agitated to purify the atmosphere.
