Gods themselves (original title: The Gods Themselves ) is a Romance of Isaac Asimov published in 1972. Translated into French by Jane Fillion in 1973.

Summary

First part

Hallam, a scientist, discovers by chance that tungsten was transformed into an unstable plutonium whose radioactivity increases little by little, releasing an extraordinary energy. Thus, it from of deduced that people of a universe parallel with the different laws benefit from this exchange, because taken again tungsten, unstable also on their premises under the terms of their strong interaction ten times more important, gets also an unlimited energy to them. Thus, the scientist is venerated by humanity for his revolutionary discovery, while Pumps with electrons are brought into service everywhere on Earth to produce energy in accordance with this process. However, Lamont opposes objections to such a pragmatism, while arguing that thus the laws of the two universes balance, according to the second law of thermodynamics, and that the laws of our universe are changing in a way much faster than a calculation carried out before did not let predict. Thus, the strong interaction increases, which is likely to make the Sun unstable and to explode it by creating a quasar (it suggests besides that the other quasars of the universe were perhaps the seat of a Pumping in the past). Second part

Rational extremely gifted, Emotional with the rational spirit, and Parental bold form a not very common triad.
