Godin (violin maker)

Godin is a mark of guitar based with the Canada. Robert Godin, a young Canadian contractor, who decided to create his own brand of guitar, there is more than twenty years, and which will bear its name.

The Godin company forged a reputation little by little, thanks to guitars producing of the sounds of excellent quality with choices of meticulous materials. There are 5 Godin factories, including 4 with the Quebec and 1 with the New Hampshire.

Godin markets also guitars under other names: “Seagull”, “Art & stringed-instrument trade”, “Norman”, “Simon & Patrick” (first names of its two sons) and “the Fatherland”.

Certain electric guitars Godin are finalized in the United States (New Hampshire) (micro assembly and electric system) in order to sell these guitars in the United States and to avoid protectionism thus American.

In 2000, the Godin mark tries to market a new instrument: the Glissentar, alternative far away from the guitar. But without much success.
