Godfried Danneels (° Kanegem, June 4th 1933), Secular Prelate Belgian of the Roman Catholic church, primacy of Belgium, 19th Archbishop of Malignant, 2nd Archbishop of Malignant-Brussels (1979).

Godfried Danneels , born with Kanegem, in Flanders-Western, the June 4th 1933, is the Archevêque of Malines - Brussels since January 1980 after having been bishop of Antwerp during three years.

Cardinal fact in 1983 under Holy-Anastasie, it is regarded as progressist, and appeared among the papabili in the event of victory of the camp progressist in the Conclave of 2005.

The Danneels cardinal is president of the Episcopal conference of Belgium and member of the Congrégation for the doctrines of the faith.
