- the king of Dongola David Ier seizes the port of Aydhab on the Red Sea, which is used of stopover with the Egyptian ships and place of loading for the pilgrims going with Mecque. The Moslems, directed by the emir of Kous react vigorously and push back David Ier who is made prisoner and replaced by one of his cousins (1275). The kingdom of Dongola is constrained to pour a more important tribute and to accept Moslem civils servant in his capital.

- February: Charles Ier of Anjou settles with Durazzo where it is made proclaim king of Albania. He is combined with the Bulgarian star Constantin Tich and the Serb tsar Stefan Urosh against Michel VIII Paleologist. But its participation in the crusade of Tunis defers the threat which it presents for Michel VIII.

August 6th: Beginning of the reign of Ladislas IV Couman, king of Hungary (until in 1290). It goes up on the throne at ten years. The Hungarian barons benefit from it to monopolize large grounds and to carry out private wars.
- September 2nd: The bishop of Cahors, Barthelemy, and the consuls of the city intend themselves to name “referees and friendly type-setters” charged to settle the disagreements which have occurred between them about the old habits and of the new habits.
- October: Dominican the Robert de Kilwarby becomes archbishop of Canterbury (fine in 1279).
- November 21st: Beginning of the reign of Edouard Ier of England (until in 1307).

- Ottokar II of Bohemia presents its candidature under “King of the Romans” but is isolated with the profit of Rodolphe Ier de Habsbourg (1273). A war follows in which Ottokar loses all its conquests of the area of the Alps (cf 1278).
- Ulrich von Dürrenholz, governor of Ottokar in Styrie conquers the Carniole and is essential as general captain of the the Friuli.
