Gobemouche of the marshes

The Gobemouche of the marshes ( Muscicapa aquatica , Heuglin, 1864) is a bird of the family of the Muscicapidae .

Muscicapa aquatica has 4 subspecies:

  • Muscicapa aquatica aquatica
  • Muscicapa aquatica infulata
  • Muscicapa aquatica lualabae
  • Muscicapa aquatica grimwoodi

Statute and safeguarding

This species was classified by IUCN in category LLC (minor concern), because she is regarded as frequent on her surface of distribution.

Philately

Uganda emitted a stamp with the effigy of this bird in 1999 (see the image here)
