Monk Benedictine of Irish origin , disciple of Holy Fursy, holy Gobain leaves Burgh-Castle (Suffolk) to follow holy Fursy to France. He remains with the Abbaye Saint-Vincent de Laon , before settling in a hermitage in the Forest of Voas, close to current the Saint-Gobain. He would have made spout out a source in the vicinity, by inserting his pilgrim's staff in the ground.
He was assassinated in 670, was decapitated by petty thieves, and was buried in his oratorical, was become place of pilgrimage.
