Goar (Alain chief)

Goar (towards 390 - towards 450) was a chief Alain remained on the the Rhine with some bands, with the service of the Roman Empire of December 406 with 411.

It joined to the king Burgonde Gunther in order to carry to the imperial throne Jovin into 411. But Jovin was captured into 412 and one is unaware of the fate of Goar then.

Goar is mentioned in the description of Gregoire de Tours of the cruel invasions on the cold Rhine the December 31st 406.

Aetius would have entrusted to Goar the monitoring Armoricains on the the Loire.
