Go-Uda
The emperor Go-Uda (後宇多天皇, Go-Uda Tennō , December 17th 1267 - July 16th 1324) was the 91e emperor Japan, according to the traditional order of the succession, and reigned of the March 6th 1274 with the November 27th 1287.
Its personal name was Yohito (世仁). Its posthumous Nom was given to him in memory of that of the emperor Uda (one can translate the prefix Go-, 後, by “posterior”, which thus gives “posterior Uda Emperor”.)
Genealogy
Go-Uda was the second wire of the emperor Kameyama and thus belonged to the line Daikakuji-tō. His/her mother was Fujiwara (Toin) No Kisshi (Kyogoku In) It had several children, of which the future emperors Go-Nijō and Go-Daigo.Empress and Consorts:

Biography
The Go-Uda future becomes crown prince in 1268, thanks to the will of his/her grandfather the emperor withdrawn Go-Saga. This last dies in 1272, and two years after death, in 1274, Kameyama abdicates in favor of Go-Uda and starts its reign of withdrawn emperor.During the reign of Go-Uda, the Mongolian of the Dynasty Yuan (China) and of Koryŏ (Korea try twice to invade Japan, in 1274 and 1281, pushed back each time by a typhoon known under the name of kamikaze (神風).
In 1287, the emperor withdrawn Go-Fukakusa, dissatisfied owing to the fact that its own line, the Jimyōin-tō, is isolated throne in favor of that of his/her young Kameyama brother, manages to persuade at the same time the Bakufu and the imperial court to force the Go-Uda emperor to abdicate in favor of the son of Go-Uda, the emperor Fushimi.
After that, the fight for the imperial throne enters the lines Jimyōin-tō and Daikakuji-tō continues, the control of the throne alternating between the two lines. The line of Go-Uda controls the throne of 1301 with 1308 under the reign of Go-Nijō, then again of 1318 until the beginning of the time Nanboku-chō (time of the Northern and Southern courses), where they become the court of the South, until in 1392.
Go-Uda is emperor withdrawn during the reign of his/her Go-Nijō son, of 1301 with 1308, then beginning of the reign of its second wire Go-Daigo in 1318, until in 1321, when Go-Daigo starts to reign directly.
